Quirico Quirico

Domenico Quirico is alive. He disappeared in Syria two months ago (9 April) and there were no news ever since. But the inquiries reached a turning point yesterday: Quirico directly called his wife at home. The conversation was very brief; just few fundamental seconds enough to say he is alive and fine.

There are few details too. Italian Foreign Minister Emma Bonino only declared that Quirico could be tracked down near Qusayr, Syrian city formerly occupied by rebel groups but reconquered by Assad troops on Wednesday. The Farnesina crisis unit is working in order to obtain Quirico’s position precisely, but the Syrian army presence could represent a serious obstacle towards communication or rescue operations. Emma Bonino declared indeed that this will be a highly delicate phase and she recommended full reserve on the matter.

We can only wait right now.
