The Secretary of State John Kerry and the Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov have reached an agreement, despite the crisis in Ukraine, for an increase of common intelligence about militants ISIS, putting aside brouhaha, focusing on a common enemy.

Speaking in Paris with his Russian counterpart, Kerry said that the two world powers despite the new "Cold War", due to the role played by Russia in Ukraine, have found ways to work together on global issues although there are large differences in a number of areas.

Certainly there is no doubt that the mutual distrust remains, but for better or worse has reached an agreement about a common line against the Islamic State.

We both recognize the need to defeat and destroy the ISIL Kerry said in a press conference by using an alternative name for the Islamic group.

"No decent country could support the horrors that are perpetrated dall'ISIL and no country should consider civil shirk their responsibilities, and take an active part in the effort to eradicate this disease."

Kerry added that in recent years the US-Russian relations have deteriorated and intelligence cooperation has suffered, but today both recognize the need to strengthen intelligence cooperation against the ISIL, although Moscow suspects that there is an additional reason that justifies the intervention of the USA and is the removal of Syrian President Bashar al-Assad's ally Russia.

Kerry warned that the United States and the international community do not recognize any referendum held in the separatist areas of Ukraine.

Kerry has accused Moscow of supporting separatist rebellion in eastern Ukraine a wire supplying the Russian troops and weapons, Russia denies the charges and claims its right to defend the interests of the majority of Russian-speaking population, causing the reaction to sanctions by the West Russian banks.

Despite everything in the fight against the Islamic State USA and Russia are working on a common ground in their concern to suffer attacks at home.
