UN peacekeepers have already been victim of others attack, the last one took place in Eastern Darfur in April when a Nigerian peacekeeper was shot to death. UN is blaming Khartum (Sudan Capital city) and asked President Al Bashir to react quickly in order to bring the guilty party to justice.
Nothing new in a 10 years ongoing civil war which has left more than 300 thousand victim on the ground. Besides, the recent discovery of gold vane and deposit of the rare coltan mineral (used in electronic devices) could easily foster the interethnic war fire: the 16 thousand UNAMID peacekeepers failed in containing violence which has overflew during the last year and involved also the young state of South Sudan (which gained its independence just in 2011). Clashes over those resources have already leapt over geopolitical borders and seem ready to bring the whole region into chaos.
